This three-storey building on Lancaster University’s North Campus was built as part of the redevelopment of the entire arts sector for the Lancaster Institute of Contemporary Arts.
The classrooms and offices accommodate art, design, music and theatre studies, and three large public arts facilities are also accommodated – a gallery, theatre and concert hall.
The new LICA building is the UK’s first higher education project to achieve the new BREEAM rating of Outstanding. In addition to winning the BREEAM award, the project was shortlisted for several other awards.
